Unemployment is worse than EVER. Inflation is coming, and it's going to be nasty. The housing market is about to get hit with the alt-a/option arm/jumbo loan wave of defaults (roughly 2-3x the size of the subprime wave we just went through). We are still shedding over half a million jobs from our economy EVERY MONTH. The 'real' unemployment rate NATIONALLY is almost 20% right now. No meaningful recovery can even BEGIN to happen until about 2013, after the last wave of the BIG foreclosures is over, and ONLY if unemployment gets under control. No jobs, no housing = no recovery. Don't believe the hype. There is no hope. There has been no change (at least not for the good). You are being lied to, little sheep. bahhh

Hey all, those of you who can should come out to a free gallery show that Cooper & I will be DJing on November 5th - that's next Thursday! it's at 788 Washington St. - not too far from the inner harbor, about 5 or 6 blocks I think... the music will be chill and the art will be hot, so come on out and take a look!

I've been working on this project for a while now, and i'm putting this out there... MVVM and Prism could be a great framework setup... if the tools were ready for them...
Adobe's Flex Builder does your design + business management all in one... VS just isn't good enough at design, and Blend sucks donkeys' balls at business end, so you still need 2 apps running to make a worthwhile app, if you're going to be going back and forth... otherwise you need 2 people, working pretty much side by side, and with clearly delineated tasks... but they're SO close.
Anyways, Prism, AKA Composite Application Guidance is pretty powerful, it modularizes your development, so each piece lives comfortably inside your shell (Don't need to be a programmer to understand that, right? it's like drawers in a dresser!).
MVVM is Model, View, ViewModel, a method of separating what the App looks like from the logic that makes it function... also pretty simple. You separate the code that logs you in from the screen prettiness of a login widget - that way you can change the login widget to look any way you want... and you don't have to change your code...
this is all very cool stuff, from a programming standpoint... i just think that using it day to day could be much easier...
end rant

this is pretty neat... even though to test, deploy or put online, you still need a mac, you can at least write your iPhone apps in C# now... here's a pretty cool video demo

if you're a very visual person, and you've been avoiding it because it’s big and boring looking, Google Chrome now has skins you can slap on and take for a spin… most of them are like early Winamp skins… bizarre and with clashing colors where they should be complementary, but some are pretty sweet check it out!

My office mate & advisor in all things hot sauce recently put up a demo of some very nice new code to handle multi touch via Adobe Flex.
If you're not too familiar with Flex (I'm not!) here's a hint of how cool it is: his app was demo'd during the keynote speech at Adobe MAX this year... which is pretty awesome!
