this is pretty hilarious and it doesn't help that both of them devolve into yelling inanities at each other and not answering the other person, but it's certainly some kind of "news"

at 31 seconds into this clip, the former white house press secretary for President Bush states “We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush’s Term”
she doesn’t correct herself, and the other two don’t correct her. So is history rewritten?

I've been using the Motorola Droid for over a week now and personally I love it. I find the features, such as the touch screen and the interface, to be somewhat unintuitive to start but easy to grasp. The call quality has been superb, there are times though that answering the phone can be tricky since it involves sliding a finger across the screen. Answering could be problematic if you're cooking or if your hands are wet. The speaker phone does an excellent job and it doesn't distort like I've experienced with other phones such as the LG 8300, Blackberry Storm, and Blackberry Tour.

We are now the proud owners of about 4 cups of home made apple butter... and I think it's quite delicious. It might not be as thick as it could be, but it's still completely awesome.
If you're interested (and have a crock pot) here's what I did... it couldn't be easier.
1) peeled & sliced 10 Fuji + 1 Granny Smith apple - this was made VERY easy by the use of Ann's handy stand peeler, it took all of about 4 minutes for a dozen apples.
2) tossed them in the crock pot, set to Low
now, i was nervous about burning the apples, and how super sweet the apples are, so i
3) added 3/4 of a cup of water, and the juice of 1 lemon
4) i also took this opportunity to throw in about two teaspoons of cinnamon and 1 of ground cloves
5) stirred every hour or so for a couple of hours.
at this point, when i went to bed, i had some VERY decent applesauce... i could stop here and go with what i knew, but i pressed on, and by pressing on, i mean i went to bed.
6) in the morning, i had a nice, dark sauce, and it was lovely, but still had a few chunks (albeit very soft chunks), so I took out my handy stick blender and pushed it a few times... and wow... it was awesome...
7) i let it go for a few hours (wisely following Ann's advice) and it cooked down a bit more, and it came out beautifully. I'm a terrible food photographer, so here are some pictures that are representative...

I (very unusually) caught last night's 60 Minutes and was hugely disappointed by they piece on "Movie Piracy".. first off, they only looked at one side... interviewing Steven Soderbergh, talking about the "Gangsters" who go into the theaters and "steal" the movies on their crappy camcorders, expressing shock and disbelief that "they take their kids to the theater????" (OMG, WTF! Not CHILDREN!), and one of the weirdest visualization of a "gee wiz" technology called BitTorrent, which they lead the viewer to believe is ONLY used to pirate movies (ok, that's a LOT of what it's used for... but a ton of software and educational sites use it too!)...
The main problem, i'm thinking, is that they didn't do any critical thought about this, as 60 minutes USED to be known for... what about the tiny movie maker, who puts his movie on bittorrent himself, and gains recognition that way? what about the fact that, if you go to the theater with another person (and who goes alone?), your movie experience costs you over $20... that's more than the DVD of the same movie (and some blurays!)... making the economics of it ridiculous... AND the fact that the huge movies are STILL huge, AND the fact that even after seeing pirated versions, geeks and fanboys (let's not kid ourselves... we're the ones who know how to download!) are STILL going to see the big movies 2 or 3 times anyways...
So, 60 Minutes.... i'm disappointed that you took such a weak approach to this story, one which is controversial for a reason...
also, your Yakuza gets a new liver at UCLA story? Did it ever occur to you that these crime lords who now, even in disgrace, have a hit out on the journalist who broke the story, might also have been able to threaten some people at UCLA just as well?
all in all, last night's 60 Minutes gets a C- from me...
