10-Disc. Limited Edition. Six-Movie. Collector's Set. AND IT GLOWS. The freakin' briefcase. GLOWS.

I mean... just LOOK at that unnatural state! (Sorry, Jamie, or anyone else who is offended I just stole that from William Gibson, but it worked so well...)

I have been using the heck out of a great site FranklyMLS for years now in my constant real estate shuffle. It is run by a super agent Frank LLosa who operates in Northern VA mostly. I would use him myself, but I have decided to go without a buyer’s agent this time for multiple reasons. He doesn't know this yet, but whenever I can finally afford unload my former place in Maryland that I currently rent out, Frank’s agency will be my first call.
The only negative about his site is that it only has listings from Virginia, D.C. and Maryland. Other than that it is fantastic. It is for the data hungry. Searches come back with a nice spreadsheet view that you can sort on whatever criteria. Simply roll over the listing to see a picture. The listing pages are simple, no fluff, and fact dense.
The real power of the site comes from the email notifications on favorite listings and search criteria. I had an agent of a home that I saw on Saturday personally email me to let me know her client was dropping the price 10k. 45 minutes later Frankly send me an email with the same information. You do have to of course give them your email address to get alerts, which I usually would dread on a slimy real estate site. However, they have not bothered me in the least to try and upsell me on their services. They just send me the alerts that I want. How refreshing!
Much of the real estate industry has focused on hording information away from buyers and sellers and keeping it confined within their cartel. Frank, goes in the opposite direction and pushes it all out as fast as he can to everyone. He is the type of agent that is going to succeed, and do very well in the future.
Thanks Frank!

Costco had prime ones on sale, so we picked up a couple. This one recipe looks really good, definitely going on the grill this week...

Rolling right along with the theme... tonight I am going to be making 2 beer can chickens - one will be rubbed inside and out with my personal rub mixture (made from a few rubs mixed together, along with some smoked paprika and other things), the other will be brined, with just some salt & pepper to season it, which will hopefully give it a nice soft flavor, but still moist and delicious. Pics forthcoming!

I bought a chicken from Iowa Meat Farms on Saturday and tried out a couple of new things with it, thought you'd be interested...
I based what I did on Michael Ruhlman's Lemon Tarragon Brine Roast Chicken (he wrote that Charcuterie book i have) but not too closely... He brined his for 24 hours, I only brined mine for 1.5-2 hours, and because I had a lot of leftover tarragon and chives, i put them in my small food processor with 1/2 stick of butter and made a compound butter. after i pulled the chicken out, i put it on a plate with some paper towels, and let it dry a little bit. I put a shallot (halved) and 1/2 of a lemon (it was a giant lemon, so i cut the 1/2 into quarters) in the cavity. i sprinkled a few pinches of kosher salt on top of the bird, then i took half of the tarragon/chive butter and softened it in the microwave, then rubbed that inside the skin and on top of it.
