Social Security

So it looks like the republican agenda to dissolve social security is coming together. I don't mind that much except that if I don't get paid back for the social security wages I've paid, I'm going to join a class action lawsuit vs the government. I'm sure there will be plenty to choose from.

Dissolving socail security is going to put poor old people in the homes of thier poor adult children. This will make poor people poorere and make the population more unstable as a whole. Rich people will be eaten. The massive short-sightedness of this agenda is appaling.

It reminds me of when there was a republican call to dissolve the dept. of education. Too many idiots who don't have kids in school think that they derive no benefit by paying taxes to keep the broadest range of people educated. As if thier very lifestyle wasn't dependent on legions of people with public educations building raods and houses and televisions for thier stupid asses. Social security, like education, benefits everyone, directly or indirectly.

If the republicans are serious about trying to convert the social security system into one where its actually something more like a savings account with guranteed rates of return (secured bonds), then I'm all for it. Its what it should have been all along. If its instead something that isn't a guranteed rate of return (like stocks), its still a really bad idea, too many homeless poor old people will come from that.
