Linux media player
Previous | Next by muhgcee 13 February, 2004 - 8:55 PM

OK so I've got Fedora (offshoot of Redhat Linux) installed on my home computer now. It comes with xmms, which was a great media player until they decided they weren't going to do mp3s anymore. So I searched around and landed on kaffeine. Well, I don't really like it, but I haven't seen anything else around. Does anyone have a suggestion as to which Linux media player I should be using?

I managed to find this handy dandy guide. I discovered the Fedora mailing list this morning and it has been a great help in general.

i just got a computer desk from ikea myself... it's very nice, fits the big monitor nicely... now i just need a nicer computer...

anyone want to trade 2 450s + 2 hard drives (32 or 40 gb and 12 gb) + dvd drive + old epson printer (not sure if it works anymore, but worth a shot) for one nicer, newer machine? hehehe

I found one called "Kaffeine", but it kind of sucked. Good luck.

Just happened to finally find a good one last night called "zinf". Very easy to install too.

I have used xine, very nice player, but it doesn't serve well in my opinion as an mp3 player with playlist and such.
